At Pequod Associates Limited we were uniquely positioned to respond quickly to the challenges imposed on our operations by the COVID-19 Pandemic

Over the past decade, Pequod has embraced the benefits of remote working for employees, recognising that through flexible working practices, an improved quality of work /life balance can be achieved. We have developed our systems and working practices in an effort to decentralise and support a distributed workforce capable of working seamlessly from any location.

 As a result of these developments, we have, from the onset of the initial COVID-19, adapted our global operations to full remote working. This has been achieved, smoothly and with no changes to our usual high service levels.

As we enter the latest wave of the Pandemic and further lockdown measures remain in place, we are looking beyond the “New Normal”, to what the longer-term demands of the business environment as a whole and the insurance industry, in particular, will be.

Demurrage

A team with years of in house experience with some of the world’s largest oil traders. We handle both charter party and sale contract demurrage as well as additional freight claims all the way through to legal proceedings.

Survey expenses have increased to the point that insurers abandon investigations below certain values and intermediaries can increase claim costs.

Ports & Terminals

Incidents arising from a vessel striking objects, other vessels or facilities at a port or berth will usually lead to claims against the liability insurers of the offending vessel.

Marine Commercial & Small Craft

Compared to larger vessels, which predominantly ply their trade in the “open sea”, such vessels spend far more of their time moored, anchored or navigating in congested and hazardous waters.
