Andy is a founder and managing director of Pequod. He has over 30 years experience in both prosecuting and defending maritime claims having worked at Lloyd’s of London, GARD P&I Club and latterly in the subrogation arena. He has considerable experience in dealing with a wide range of challenging issues, including cargo claims, salvage and GA, pollution, crew and stowaway issues, and ports & terminals disputes.
Over the years he has worked closely with a number of global trading groups and has particular knowledge of recovering on commodity claims ranging from bulk foodstuffs, through oil and chemicals, steel and project cargo.

Andy has worked as an agent with hundreds of insurers and has particular expertise in the account management of global cargo programmes.
As Chief Operating Officer for the Pequod Group, he has overall responsibility for the daily operation of the company.
Andy has worked as an agent with hundreds of different insurers globally and has particular expertise in account managing TPA programmes for global cargo accounts and has travelled extensively, in close liaison with insurers, brokers and assureds, in the development of various client based online claims systems.

Andrew has 40 years experience in the shipping business, starting with a seafaring career; sailing as 3rd - Chief Officer on both foreign going and short sea vessels; with experience on; tankers, general cargo, reefers and bulkers. Following completion of a Maritime Studies degree, he joined Steamship Mutual P&I Club and then the Ocean Marine, where he was a Syndicate Head and Director. After consulting at leading international lawfirm, Norton Rose, he became the P&I claims manager at Markel Syndicate 329 (J. L. Jones & Others) fixed premium P&I facility at Lloyd's.
Andrew's speciality is marine liability claims; H&M, P&I, FD&D and related matters, with particular emphasis on collision, GA, marine cargo and marine liability policy disputes. He has spoken at seminars in London, Singapore, Turkey and the Philippines on marine liability claims and recoveries. His clients include; Lloyd’s Syndicates, H&M insurers, P&I Clubs and fixed premium P&I insurers, Shipowners and Charterers.

David has worked in the recoveries business since 1986, rising to senior roles at both Willis and a leading London recovery agent, before becoming a co-founder of Pequod. He has experience in all facets of recovery work whether marine, haulage, airfreight or warehousing.
His depth of understanding and knowledge of application of various international conventions, including the Hague-Visby Rules, Warsaw Convention (and all subsequent protocols) and CMR, makes him a leader in his field.
This expertise has served a number of major underwriting and broking clients in London, Continental Europe, Japan, South East Asia and Africa. His expertise encompasses recoveries on steel, reefer goods, bulk and break bulk foodstuffs and much more.

John has over 20 years experience in the London Insurance Market. After obtaining a degree in Marine Business with Maritime Law from the University of Plymouth, John gained experience at a Marine Insurance broking firm specialising in cargo and liability defence claims for freight companies carrying under CMR/RHA/UKWA and BIFA terms. John subsequently worked for a leading London recovery agent for approximately 10 years, dealing with complex subrogation recovery issues for the Lloyd’s and IUA (International Underwriters Association) markets prior to joining Pequod Associates in August 2006. He has extensive knowledge of the various international conventions and domestic legislation in relation to the carriage of goods by air, sea and road, including Hague-Visby Rules, CMR, Warsaw Convention and USCOGSA. John has broad experience of subrogation claims for all types of cargo.

Rob has worked in the marine insurance field since 1989 having started work as a marine claims adjuster for a global claims and recovery agent and then transferred to their casualty department dealing with GA and Salvage claims. In 1992 he moved to GARD P&I, London as a case handler dealing with all aspects of P&I claims worldwide. After 10 years at GARD P&I, Rob joined a London based recovery agent before then moving to Xchanging Claims Services in 2007 handling recoveries for the Lloyd’s and IUA (International Underwriters Association) markets. He joined the team at Pequod Associates in 2008 and handles all types of recovery claims arising throughout the world, but with a focus on maritime losses, collisions, dock damage, GA and salvage claims.
Rob completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Maritime Law from Lloyd’s Maritime Academy / London University in 2009.

David qualified as a solicitor in the 1990s. As a result of having previously worked as in-house counsel for one of the largest independent oil traders, he now specializes in petroleum shipping and trading claims. He also handles cargo recovery claims involving both petroleum and other commodities, as well as port and terminal disputes.
Besides acting for the cargo insurance market, his clients include refiners, oil traders and oil majors whom he assists with their sale contract and charter party disputes (principally demurrage and additional freight claims). He also provides guidance on the drafting of tanker charter party additional terms.
David is a regular speaker on matters such as laytime and demurrage, interim port and STS clauses, petroleum loss and sale contract terms. David is a fluent French speaker.

Having completed her studies at University in Poland, where she achieved a Masters Degree in Economics, Patrycja commenced her career working as a Logistics Specialist for a large Polish manufacturer.
This provided Patrycja with the opportunity to develop her communication, planning and organisational skills where her main responsibilities were to ensure that Transport was co-ordinated across Europe and USA and ensure that regulatory data was reported accurately with key stakeholders.
Having moved to London to broaden and develop her skills, Patrycja worked for a global claims and recovery Agent where she was primarily responsible for a major Korean electronics account, handling claims in Africa, Europe, CIS & Middle East. Patrycja played a pivotal role in developing on line claims systems and in the expansion of this business.

Andrius joined Pequod in 2012 after graduating with a first class degree in BSc (Hons) Maritime Business and Maritime Law from the University of Plymouth, and successfully completing his second bachelor degree in English law at the College of Law, Moorgate (London).
His principal area of practice is cargo claims relating to a carriage of goods by sea, road and air focusing on international conventions and subsequent protocols. He has experience working in surveying, logistics and chartering companies based in Lithuania and also significant experience in various charter party disputes, having worked in shipping law firms, both in the UK and Malta.

Ritchie has nearly 40 years experience in Shipping claims including Demurrage, freight and time charter recoveries. He is an ACCA qualified accountant and has an MBA. His previous roles include Global Commercial Support Manager at BP Shipping where he spent 30 years. He was later the Global demurrage Manager for Noble Clean Fuels Ltd and more recently spent 2 years at Shell as a demurrage and freight claims consultant.
Ritchie has extensive charter party and oil sales contract & general terms and conditions knowledge and was part of the team that produced the BPVOY4 charter party. He is well versed in handling all types of chartering and sales contract disputes.
Ritchie was a speaker at the 2017 Asdem conference. He has also run a number of in-house training courses at BP, Noble & Shell for both onshore and seagoing staff on all aspects of commercial shipping claims.

Martin has over 35 years experience in pursuing recoveries and was manager of what became Xchanging Recoveries from 1999 until the end of 2010. In this capacity he acted on behalf of most of the major cargo insurers in the London market and dealt with recoveries on some of the largest claims in the market during that period.
He has been a member of the BMLA sub-committee dealing with maritime law and has advised the Lloyd’s market on changes in shipping practice and on international conventions. He has given lectures in London and New York and has attended numerous settlement meetings and mediations in North America and Europe.

Sharon has worked in the P&I industry since 1992. After completing her Maritime Studies degree at Plymouth University, she began her career at the Ocean Marine FD&D Syndicate handling charterparty disputes and then moving into the P&I Syndicate with main focus on the Turkish and Far Eastern Membership handling a full array of P&I claims.
Since then, Sharon has worked for several International Group P&I Clubs including a secondment to Piraeus. With her years of experience, Sharon has handled and negotiated a large range of claims from minor cargo claims to major casualties/GA disputes and has worked with a wide spectrum of charterers and owners from supply vessels and barges to large container vessels and cruise lines, from the Americas to Europe and the Far East.

Christian joined Pequod in the summer of 2015 via an apprenticeship scheme after successfully completing his A-levels and International Baccalaureates. Whilst with us he has handled and successfully resolved 100s of claims for some of the largest commodities traders and insurers in the market. Having spent a brief spell working in our New York office has also helped broaden his knowledge of the North American insurance market.
His tenacity and thirst for knowledge has helped him thrive in his role as a case handler. Specialising in Cargo claims and having detailed knowledge of International Conventions such as The Hague Rules, Hague-Visby Rules, CMR Convention and US COGSA etc. Christian is also a fluent French Speaker.

Liam joined Pequod through the Apprenticeship scheme in March 2018 after successful completing his A levels and Extended Project Qualification.
He has gained knowledge of the London Insurance Market he has experience in cargo marine claims and International Conventions such as CMR, The Hague Rules, The Hague – Visby rules and the US COGSA.
He is a dedicated, organised and methodical individual. He has good interpersonal skills, is an excellent team worker, willing to learn and develop new skills. These attributes have helped him to adjust to his new role within the company as a claims handler at Pequod Associates.

Paula spent her formative years at Lloyd’s of London working within the previous Lloyd’s Claims Office before the group was transferred into Xchanging Claims Services.
She moved to Pequod in early 2010. She has over 20 years direct experience in the business and brings an excellent background knowledge of claims and recoveries to her role as administrator within Pequod.
