Joe has over 35 years of comprehensive experience/knowledge of Marine Insurance Claims handling and all related matters. He has held numerous positions of authority within the Marine Claims arena, most recently as a Senior Vice President / Marine Claims Manager for Hugh Wood Inc. Prior to that he was the Director of Marine Claims for Hilb, Rogal & Hobbs / HRH / Willis, the President of Technical Claims Services, Inc. (TCS), Senior Vice President at Aon Risk Services’ Marine Technical Services Department and Assistant Claims Manager for Sanko Kisen (U.S.A.) Corp.
He has had responsibility for direct assistance of brokerage teams, as well as marine adjusters and related staff, with extensive experience handling major marine casualties including Hull & Machinery, Cargo, P&I claims including – FFO, Fines, FDD, Charter Party disputes, Crew and other Personal Injury claims.
As a member of the Maritime Law Association of the United States Joe has served on the Committee on Carriage of Goods and the Committee on Maritime Personal. He has been an Industry Speaker and a serving member of the Association of the Average Adjusters of the United States, and the Marine Insurance Claims Association.

Andrew Fairfield
Consultant
Andrew has 40 years experience in the shipping business, starting with a seafaring career; sailing as 3rd – Chief Officer on both foreign going and short-sea vessels; with experience on; tankers, general cargo, reefers and bulkers. Following the completion of a Maritime Studies degree, he joined Steamship Mutual P&I Club and then the Ocean Marine, where he was a Syndicate Head and Director. After consulting at leading international law firm, Norton Rose, he became the P&I claims manager at Markel Syndicate 329 (J. L. Jones & Others) fixed premium P&I facility at Lloyd’s.
Andrew’s speciality is marine liability claims; H&M, P&I, FD&D and related matters, with particular emphasis on collision, GA, marine cargo and marine liability policy disputes. He has spoken at seminars in London, Singapore, Turkey and the Philippines on marine liability claims and recoveries. His clients include; Lloyd’s Syndicates, H&M insurers, P&I Clubs and fixed premium P&I insurers, Shipowners and Charterers.
